B.LA Art Foundation is pleased to present a selection of paintings,  drawings as well as an installation by UK based artist Lubaina Himid that are exhibitied for the first time in Vienna.

Lubaina Himid, recipient of the Turner Prize 2017, explores representations of the people of the African diaspora in her work and "highlights the importance of their cultural contribution to the contemporary landscape." (Lubaina Himid)

Lubaina Himid, whose roles have been and are diverse, ranging from her artistic practice, to being a curator, a political activist, an educator, and one of the pioneers of the Black Art movement in the 1980's, works across a wide range of media from canvas, to collage, cut-outs and installations. Himid often investigates the roles and representations of black people, especially black British women.
